Bernie Sanders is

Bernie Sanders has declared that he is running for president. “Sander is the longest-serving independent in congressional history” (Merica). He has defenitely know that Hillary Clinton is a very strong candidate. He is known to be “democratic socialist.” This can be contradicting because he is not officially resgister as a democrat. But he is still running. Sanders is not only running for president but he is a outspoke critic of Wall Street says Merica. People are refering to Sander as a “dark horse candidate”. Not quite sure why but it sounds like a negative thing. Sanders has given very passionate speeches in the Senate. But he does not like that because people take his as an entretainer; which he does not like nor appreciate. But is very likely that his candedecy will not survive because money funds. Money has become Sanders’ big issue. Organizations like MoveOn.org have turn their back on Sanders to support Senador Elizabeth Warren’s campaing. They think that Senador Elizabeth Warren has a better chance to win the elections. He has been resistant to attack Hillary Clinton so far. everything can change in this upcoming days. I think that everyone who is running for president knows well that Hillary Clinton is a very strong candidate. This time is not going to be easy to take her out f the elections. Definitely they upcoming months are going to be crucial for everyone to find out who else is running for president. Is going to be important that Sanders get more funds for his camping if not he is not going very far.

Can Hillary Clinton win over men?

http://www.cnn.com/2015/04/15/opinions/cupp-hillary-clinton-candidacy/

Hillary Clinton has officially declared that she is going to be running for president on the 2016 presidential elections. Everyone saw this coming. Clinton this time is basing her electoral camping in women. Most of her team are women. We are able to see his in her campaign video. Now she has new ways and experience in what she can look back and improve on. Is very likely that Hillary will obtain the Women’s vote during the election. The women’s vote have definitely make a difference during the elections. Women have a higher percentage on votes than men. Definitely the women’s vote in the 2016 elections are going to be key factor. Most people who have so far declared that they are running for president are mostly men. But they know that Hillary Clinton is a very strong and competitive candidate. She is one of he favorites to win the election of 2016. Men known it. This elections are not going to be so easy after all. But other people think that Hillary Clinton should have her campaign cabinet a diversity of men and women to increase her votes.

I think that 2016 elections Clinton does have a very high possibility of becoming the first women president of the United States of America. Personally I would be so happy if she does become the next president. That would be a historic day in the United States. Not only the United States but world wide. Men need to let women run this country for once. We are very capable of doing it and better.

Supreme Court justices skeptical of redefindng marriage

http://www.cnn.com/2015/04/28/politics/supreme-court-gay-marriage-arguments/index.html

The Supreme Court of the United States have enter to a controversial topic. They are trying to redefined the meaning of marriage due to the same- sex marriage rights. This could mean that each individual state or as judicial system could give permission or denied gay marriage. It has become a controversial topic trough the past few days because the actual definition of marriage is the union between a man and a women for centuries. But times have change and everyone deserves to be marriage to whoever they want even if they are not opposite sex. “Same sex marriage isn’t gay privilege, it’s equal rights. Privilege would be something like gay people not paying taxes. Like churches don’t.” This are some of the Facebook quotes in the LGBT Facebook Page posted yesterday. This would be a change nationally which is great. Personally I just think that redefining marriage is not really what is important because regardless of it same sex marriage has been approved in most states in the United States. But also is going to be a huge change because LGBT people would not be excluded from the definition of marriage. But as long as people are happy that is what ultimately matter at the end of the day. The last word would be by either by Chief of Justice John Roberts or Justice Anthony Kennedy. We will be watching closely on Tuesday what is the resolution of this case. This case is going to keep giving more headlines in the next upcoming days.

Columbia student accused of rape sue over accuser’s performance art

http://www.cnn.com/2015/04/27/living/feat-columbia-mattress-project-lawsuit/index.html

A Columbia University student was raped by another Columbia student back in 2014. Paul Nungesser who was accused of raping Sulkowicz who is currently a senior at Columbia is suing the university “for allowing his accuser to publicly brand him a “serial rapist”(Grinberg). Since the raped occurred Sulkowicz started her own project called “Carry That Weight”. This has become her senior thesis. Her project consists in “carrying a twin-size mattress wherever she goes on campus, but not off campus. She’s allowed to accept help carrying the object but does not allow herself to ask for help” (Grinberg). This is we way of protesting of the injustice that has happened with her. Sulkowicz leave under fear because her abuser still goes to Columbia. She does not feel safe. The University of Columbia has not make any statement of the punishment for Nungesser. The university has very strict confidential policies that does not allow them to speak about the matters that are taking acting regarding students. Nungesser wrote a Facebook messages claiming that he did not raped Sulkowicz and that they has consensual sex. Now Nungesser is not only using the University of Columbia for “serial rapist” thing but also because he claims that this is ” seeks damages to be determined at trial for harm to is reputation, loss of educational opportunities and future career prospects” (Grinberg). It makes sense and understandable reasons why he is mad but if he did rape her than he should b held accountable for it.

This particular has become very relevant the all University campuses across the nation. Campus have become more aware of this matter. I think is a great movement to decrease even stop sexual assaults in universities. I know that SSU has become one of the campuses that are promoting sexual assault awareness. I think more work has to be put into but it will help girls and guys feel safe in campuses.

Nepal earthquake: Homeless urgently need tents; death toll above 5,200

http://edition.cnn.com/2015/04/29/asia/nepal-earthquake/index.html

The Nepal’s earthquake of magnitude 7.8 on Tuesday afternoon has force families out of there homes. Nepal’s Prime Minister Minendra Rijal has make an awareness  that Nepal and their families need help. Besides needing food, and water to survive. They are asking for “Half a million tents are urgently needed” (Shersta, Mullen, and Spark-Smith).  India, Thailand, and Pakistan are helping by providing tents. 21 helicopters are also doing rescue by air. So far  about 886 people have been volunteering their time to do rescue by air. The weather has been making it very difficult to continue with the rescue by air and land. On Saturday President Barack Obama called Nepal’s Prime Minister to offer condolences and the United States help. “Will do all that is can to help the people of Nepal in their time of need” the White House said. The people in Nepal are worry that diseases will emerge do to the lack of safe and clean water. This puts the children under a huge risk. As on Wednesday about 5238 people were confirm dead and 10348 injured according the CNN. Outside of Nepal only 75 people die in Indian and 25 in China. The weather is becoming huge problem not only for the rescue operation but also for all this people who were force to leave their homes. Gupta said “over three days the medical staff there had treated 617 patients and saved 586 of them.”

This has been a tragedy for the Nepal’s community and all around the world. Personally I think that is just fair to say that Nepal needs everyone’s help. Since this happened companies have been trying to show support. For example, Facebook has create a notification that gives us the option to donate and help. I think that is a very smart way to help. This event is relevant because when there is a natural disaster is when the world becomes united. But it should not be only in time of need.

April 17, 2015 Historic Day for the Deffer Action DACA and DAPA

http://noticias.univision.com/article/2282848/2015-03-25/inmigracion/noticias/corte-de-apelaciones-acepta-escuchar-argumentos-sobre-la-accion-ejecutiva-migratoria

On April 17, 2015 is the court day for the case of President Obama vs Judge Andrew S. Hanen. Judge Hanen claimed that the President Obama was violating his power and violating the U.S. Constitution. The case was not only put up by him but also by other 26 states. Some of the states envolved in this case are, “Además de Texas, los otros estados que demandaron la acción ejecutiva son Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Carolina del Norte, Carolina del Sur, Dakota del Norte, Dakota del Sur, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine, Michigan, Missisipi, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, Ohio, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Utah, Virginia Occidental y Wisconsin” (Cancino Para. 20). Is not a surprise that this states would be against an immigration reform. The amazing this is that they decided to put a temporary stop it a day before it supposed to take action. Now everyone who is applicable is getting for April 17 to know the ruling. Many say that this will be a historic verdict that it will be benefiting abut 5 million people all over the United States (Cancino). This affects me personally because I work in immigration so this would of have been a great year for business. If everything goes accurately as hoped by 5 million people it should be a good year for DACA and DAPA. The republicans do not want any type of immigration reform even though this two programs has limited and specific rules for the people who are eligible.  We all have to wait for April 17 to see what is going to happen.
